Sueños Amores y Esperanza – Puerto Vallarta, MX
In 2020, we funded the construction of a 3 story building in one of the poorest communities in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which is the new home of Escuelita, an amazing after-school kids’ program run by teachers. We’re thrilled to say it is now open with safe social distancing protocols, following all Mexico health guidelines. Small numbers of kids are taking turns in the building, catching up on classwork, and having a safe community to learn, play, and spend their free time in. The non-profit serves the kids meals and stays open morning and evening for 2 shifts.
Thank you so much for helping us make this happen! More funding is needed to continue fully opening once it is safe to do so. We can’t wait until even more kids can benefit from this amazing opportunity.
The Gardenia Project – Puerto Vallarta, MX
The Gardenia Project helps children and their families in Puerto Vallarta. Pledge to Humanity has been able to provide materials to weatherproof and improve their homes. Prior to this, many of the house walls were made with plastic tarps and the floors were dirt, making their homes vulnerable all four seasons. The floors are now cemented and the walls made with wood and tarpaper to help keep families safe and away from the elements. We also help periodically with basic needs such as pantry items and brand new clothing donated by wonderful people in the Bay Area. We are looking forward to expanding our support in many more areas and on a more regular basis.
Pledge to Humanity is very happy to be helping make a difference in the community of Gardenia.
Pledge for a Smile Project
How can as smile change a life? What is a cleft palate? A cleft palate is a birth defect that affects the upper lip and mouth. It can cause many infections, affect speech, affect the ability to eat, and affects physical appearance. Once an operation to repair the cleft palate is performed on one of these precious children, it will bring their smile back and make a huge difference in their life.To help us change someone’s life by sponsoring a cleft palate surgery, please DONATE $240. This will cover the expense of the surgery and will make a life-long difference in the life of a child.
Volunteer Trips to Open Arms
Open Arms is a wonderful organization that Pledge to Humanity has had the pleasure of sending our volunteers to work alongside in their efforts in positively effect change in Mexico. Although this trip is a shorter than other PTH trips (four days), it is a great introductory volunteer trip for people of all ages and it enables the group to learn more about those in need. While in Mexico, the group works Open Arms projects and in the community. The group is able to reflect on what they experienced each day and how it has opened their eyes to different cultures and beliefs.

The Dumpster Project
We are now working to better the lives of the children and their families that live in and around the Puerto Vallarta area. One child at a time, one family at a time, we are providing for the basic needs in their homes – thanks to the generous support of our partners.
Open Arms Tijuana Project
Pledge to Humanity continues to support Open Arms Mexico in Tijuana on an ongoing basis. Thanks to the support of our great partners, we are able to provide clothing for the children and continue to provide funds that make it possible to serve healthy meals to the children at Open Arms. We have organized coat drives and donated Christmas presents to the kids at Open Arms, and can’t wait to do it again this year!
