Ecuador

Total Schools: 30 | Schools in Ecuador: 2

Pledge to Humanity held a second annual fundraiser at the Ghorbani home on September 18, 2010 that turned out to be another great success. Through the donations, raffle sales and auction sales we were able to benefit a community in rural Ecuador. The money raised went to build two small schools as well as funding an Alternative Income Project to empower indigenous young women for an entire year! This program is built to not only empower the young women, but provide them with the tools they need to become economically independent. Thank you to all of our volunteers, supporters, and all who attended the fundraiser. Your efforts go a long way!

We sponsor the very first Girls Club in Shuid, Ecuador. We partner with Free the Children to sponsor these girls so they can gain access to healthcare, education, alternative income opportunities, and more. Young girls participate in weekly meetings with the support of their parents who aspire for social change in their families and community. Girls’ Clubs are a series of educational (and fun!) training sessions that include hands-on activities that touch on environmental, economic, social and cultural issues. The goal is to empower these young girls to be leaders in their communities.

Another big “Thank You” to our partners Free the Children. This video features a recap of the year’s events, volunteer projects, and the support we were able to provide to our friends in Ecuador.
