Dougherty Valley High School

A few words from Pledge to Humanity:

I like to think of Pledge to Humanity as a bridge between the children in our community and those in need here and all around the world.

Equally important is the gift of empowering our children to share of themselves and understand the true meaning of giving and personally making a difference in the lives of others.

 Sincerely, Gaby

Dougherty Valley High School’s Pledge to Humanity aims to forge model volunteers, who epitomize Pledge to Humanity’s principles and values. Founded in 2012, Dougherty Valley’s Pledge to Humanity has been emphasizing the importance of aiding those in need, particularly children and youth living in underdeveloped countries. We strive to confront global issues of poverty, education, medical care, and clean water in order to make a worldwide impact by hosting fundraisers, drives, and other voluntary events. We believe in engendering support from youth volunteers of all ages and inspiring these volunteers to reach out to not only their local community but also communities elsewhere that are in need of basic necessities. We exist to teach members how to take initiative to help those in need instead of acting as bystanders. Through Dougherty Valley’s Pledge to Humanity, students can build character as individuals that selflessly aid those in need throughout and beyond high school.

Dougherty Valley’s Pledge to Humanity hosted a Coat/Hoodie drive from November 12 – December 12. We obtained a total of 178 coats, ranging from light hoodies to heavy coats in all different shapes and sizes.

Pictures coming soon!
